Released during the age of the Ye'ol quarantine days, I made and published the first version of my game as a gift for my then gf, now wife as her birthday gift. As a self-taught programmer and sole creator of the game saying there were a lot of hard moments would be an understatement but it was something new that I never thought would do and with the continuous support from my wife I was able to publish something that I can call my own. As simple and now seemingly small the game was, it is now the thing that reminds me that nothing is impossible and also how much I sucked. Don't tell anyone about the latter part.
Cube Verse 1.0

After 4 months I dropped the first update to my game that overhauled the entire. Better UI, better sound, better everything, and much more vibrant. It was a clear sign that the app was in its teenage years as it grew better and yet there was more room for improvement. I was happy with the update and yet there was something very wrong about it because the update made the game size balloon from a few mbs to a whopping 5GB. And that was because none of the assets I made in PS was downscaled in the game and was done with the full size.

Now we are the part where we see the biggest update to the game. This update brought new features, game modes, animations, UI updates and more. This is where I felt my game reached the height and expectation that I wanted. Where I felt I can proudly say that I have a game that I made from the ground up.
2D Mode
The first mode we brought is the 2D mode. Flappy bird enjoyers will fill right at home with the level design and the gameplay.

Retro Mode
Retro mode brings you back to the simpler times of the Gameboys. When there was a vast number of colors like black, medium black, and light black. As well as other shades of black.
Characters Galor
10 new characters were added with their own unique level design. Unlock all of them by destroying blocks and collecting power-ups. Creator favourite ones are the Co-founder(Tiny tiny), and my 2 cats(Sherlock and Virgil).
Avatar Cube
Inspired by the OG legendary show become Avatar Cube by powering up all four of your abilities of your characters.
Final thoughts
The journey and struggles that I faced during the whole process, mainly being the sleepless night I stayed awake because my code wasn't working or somehow I broke it with the mini heart attacks I got when it, the journey was great and I honestly wouldnt trade it for anything. I will end it with a meme that resides within me and that I can fully understand. And I am sure this meme will be felt by everyone of every age, time, and place.
